Knicks fan and Oscar-nominated actor Timothée Chalamet leads Adidas’s new film to promote the FIFA World Cup happening in New Jersey. The star-studded film brings together legends and icons like Bad Bunny, Lionel Messi, Trinity Rodman, and more.
Chalamet is building a local crew whose “win or go home” streak has survived generations of challengers. To beat the best, you have to assemble the best.
This project hits home for the Dune actor, who says,
“I used to dream of playing with these guys—you know, I was playing at Pier 40 as a kid, thinking about Beckham’s free kicks, Del Piero’s goals, and Zidane’s volleys—doing my own versions. I love this game, so it’s unbelievable to be doing this with Adidas, captured with the best to ever do it. I’m a traditionalist; I don’t know soccer, I know football, and I can’t wait for this summer’s World Cup.”

The short film kicks off with Jalen Brunson’s favorite Knicks fan talking on the phone, trying to convince someone his team is legit. With a hood up on his gray fleece set, his Adidas “Dad Hat” is prominent in the shot before he gets into a car with Trinity Rodman.

Additionally, product placement is featured all throughout the short film. It is a subtle way to promote the brand and get you hyped for the World Cup. When you’re trying to be an unmissable part of world football’s pinnacle stage, this is a great start.
